Finance Assistant - Taunton - Up to: £22,000
Trial Balance Consulting have been engaged by a prominent Taunton based employer, a specialist consumer services business with direct and indirect customers located throughout Europe. Their business has grown substantially over recent years and they now operate a sizeable accounting function. They now seek to recruit a Finance Assistant to join them on a permanent, full time basis. The role is offered on a blended working basis with part of the week being office based and the remainder being remote, the precise split to be agreed with the successful candidate at interview.
The Finance Assistant will play an important role in the day-to-day running of the function with a key focus on administering the accounts payable and receivable function, as well as other accounting tasks where required. Key responsibilities to include:
- Preparing and processing purchase ledger documents and invoices using bespoke accounting ERP, and liaising with suppliers to assist with queries
- Process supplier payment runs
- Administering the sales ledger function and reconciling invoice payments
- Issuing refunds
- Daily reconciliation of accounts
For this role we are seeking a candidate, either part/fully AAT or qualified by experience, who possesses at least 9-12 months of recently gained experience in a similar function. The role would be well suited to a general ledgers clerk looking for a step up and to gain more experience in a broad function. Good general IT skills and the ability to communicate effectively with customers via telephone, email etc. essential.
