Trial Balance Consulting are delighted to be assisting an eco-friendly and very down-to-earth FMCG business in their search for a Management Accountant. What started as a small, local business, has rapidly accelerated to national levels. The business is on a rapid trajectory in the right decision and the timing of this recruitment marks a great opportunity to join the business at an opportune time, and in a brand-new position. 

This is a very broad role that almost blurs the lines of finance manager. The successful candidate will report to and work closely with two directors and a non-exec, as well as supervising a team of two, ultimately taking a lead in the financial control and reporting of the business. What’s involved?

- Production of management accounts with detailed commentary

- General supervision for the accounting function and small team 

- Account reconciliation

- Oversee the accounts payable & receivable function

- Payroll for approx. 30 staff

- Sales analysis of budgets and cash flow forecasts

- Monitoring of aged debtor

- Preparation and submission of payroll taxes and VAT liabilities

- Maintenance of Sage 50 cloud

We’re more focussed on experience than we are qualification so whether you’re QBE or part/fully AAT/professionally qualified, as long as you possess at least 3-5 years in a similar capacity, we’re interested in hearing from you. As a young business they’re harnessing technology so good IT aptitude in MS Office and cloud-based accounting platforms will be ideal. The role is as technical as it is commercially orientated so a solid understanding of the complete lifecycle of a small but growing SME will be essential. The team here are super-cheerful, passionate and very energetic so a likeminded candidate with the ability to solve problems, develop a team and implement streamlining initiatives will fit like a glove!
