Part-time Financial Controller - Taunton - £60,000 FTE

Trial Balance Consulting are delighted to be working with a brand-new client, a highly innovative business operating within the manufacturing sector, to source a commercially astute part-time Financial Controller. This is a broad and highly visible role offering the opportunity to work closely with senior leadership and play a key part in shaping financial strategy and performance.

This is a flexible, part-time opportunity (3 days per week) that would suit an experienced finance professional seeking a strategic and hands-on role within a growing and forward-thinking organisation. The role will be based at the company’s offices in Taunton. 

Key responsibilities:

- Provide meaningful insight into the overall financial health and performance of the business 

- Partner with senior leadership to support short, medium and long-term financial planning 

- Oversee departmental P&Ls, driving accountability and performance visibility 

- Lead the budgeting process, including preparation, monitoring and variance analysis 

- Develop and maintain robust cashflow forecasting 

- Monitor and optimise working capital across the business 

- Manage FX exposure and international transactions 

- Deliver financial modelling, project costings and investment analysis 

- Produce clear, insightful reporting to support decision-making

You’ll be a commercially minded and qualified finance professional (ACA / ACCA / CIMA), with strong experience in financial analysis, budgeting and business partnering. You’ll be confident working with senior stakeholders, able to translate complex financial data into clear insight and be comfortable operating across both strategic and operational finance.
