An established accountancy practice in Teignmouth is looking to recruit an Accounts Technician to join its experienced team. This is a hands-on role offering exposure to accounts, tax, bookkeeping and management accounting assignments for a diverse client portfolio.

The role of Accounts Technician will include:

- Preparing year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies

- Preparing self-assessment tax returns and corporation tax returns

- Completing VAT returns and supporting clients with their ongoing VAT requirements

- Preparing management accounts for a varied client base

- Undertaking monthly bookkeeping assignments

- Liaising with clients to obtain information and respond to day-to-day accounting queries

- Working closely with colleagues to ensure deadlines are consistently achieved

The successful Accounts Technician will be:

AAT qualified, or hold an equivalent qualification, and have at least three years' experience gained within an accountancy practice environment. Experience using cloud-based accounting software will be highly beneficial, alongside a strong understanding of accounts preparation, bookkeeping and tax compliance work.

As an Accounts Technician, you'll have excellent attention to detail, strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing deadlines. You'll also be a confident communicator who enjoys working both independently and as part of a team.
