Trial Balance are delighted to be working with a respected accountancy practice who are looking to recruit an Accounts Assistant to join its team in Weston-super-Mare. This is a varied role offering the opportunity to work with a diverse portfolio of clients, develop your technical skills and gain valuable experience across a broad range of accounting and taxation work.

As Accounts Assistant, your responsibilities will include:

- Preparing financial statements for limited companies, partnerships and sole traders

- Assisting with personal and corporate tax

- Providing bookkeeping and management accounting support across a varied client portfolio

- Preparing and submitting quarterly VAT returns

- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date accounting records for clients

- Responding to day-to-day client queries and developing strong working relationships

- Supporting Partners, Managers and colleagues with wider accounting tasks and ad-hoc projects

The successful Accounts Assistant will:

Have previous experience within an accountancy practice and a good grounding across accounts preparation, bookkeeping and tax.

AAT qualification or equivalent experience would be advantageous, although candidates who are building their experience within practice will also be considered. You'll be organised, accurate and confident communicating with clients and colleagues, with a positive attitude towards learning and development. The ability to manage your own workload, meet deadlines and work effectively as part of a team will also be important.

This is an excellent opportunity for an Accounts Assistant who wants to develop within accountancy practice and gain broader experience than you might expect from a traditional junior accounts role. You'll enjoy regular client contact, varied technical work and the support of an experienced team.
