Accounts Assistant (Practice) - Taunton - £26,000 - £30,000

A well-established and growing firm in Taunton is looking to recruit an Accounts Assistant to join its friendly and collaborative team. Offering a varied workload, on-going training and genuine opportunities for progression, this is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build on their existing accountancy practice experience.

As Accounts Assistant, your responsibilities will include:

- Assisting with the preparation of year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies

- Preparing VAT returns and completing bookkeeping assignments

- Supporting the preparation of personal and corporate tax returns

- Working with cloud accounting software including Xero, QuickBooks and Sage

- Building positive relationships with clients and responding to day-to-day queries

- Working closely with senior colleagues to deliver a high standard of client service

The successful Accounts Assistant candidate will:

Already have experience working within an accountancy practice and be keen to continue developing their technical knowledge.

You'll ideally be AAT qualified or studying towards a professional qualification, although candidates with strong practical experience will also be considered. Strong communication skills, attention to detail and a positive attitude will all be important in this role.
