Finance Manager - Truro - £50-55,000

Trial Balance are delighted to have been exclusively engaged to source an experienced Finance Manager to join a construction business experiencing significant growth across all sub sectors of their business. This is a senior level appointment that works closely to support both the Finance Director and Commercial Manager and will oversee many areas of the company’s financial controls. 

The business is experiencing rapid growth and with a number of projects and strategy change underway, the assignments comes at a very exciting point of the business expansion. This a broad and varied role that will see the successful candidate take a lead across a number of areas where accounting policy is concerned, to include: 

- Project accounting

- Preparation of management accounts

- Cash flow management

- Budgeting and forecasting

- VAT reporting

- Variance analysis

- Capital/revenue tax management

- Work closely with colleagues across all departments as well as external stakeholders, auditors, and clients

- Manage a small team of transactional finance staff

We’re seeking an experience, ideally (though not essentially), professionally qualified individual - ACA/ACCA/CIMA. The role will call for a candidate with at least 3-5 years’ experience of managing a small team and with the knowledge of all areas of commercial and strategic financial control. The business promotes modern accounting platforms and the successful candidate will require strong IT aptitude and ideally experience using Sage and MS Excel to a high level. The role works with colleagues across the business and regularly outside of finance so excellent communication skills are a must! This employer is open to sector experience but a background in construction or civil engineering would be particularly well suited. The finance team is likely to grow in the short term so experience of staff recruitment would be advantageous also.
