Company Accountant - £35-40,000 - Plymouth
There’s a lot to consider when moving on to a new job. The position itself needs to be right, the remuneration needs to be right, and the future prospects need to be right. But perhaps one of the most important factors to consider is the employer and the nature of their operation. If working with an ethical business that genuinely changes people’s lives means as much as the job that you’re paid to do, this is probably an opportunity that will be of interest.
We’ve been assigned by a privately-operated business that makes a real difference to the mental and physical health of their clients. They work very closely with national not for profit organisations and private clients to offer a unique and unrestricted service that brings about huge social benefit.
They seek to recruit an ambitious, experienced Company Accountant to head up and develop a growing finance function. It’s a role that calls for strong strategic awareness and excellent interpersonal skills. The role reports to the Managing Director but sits on the senior management team from day one. With a small, experienced finance team to assist you in the role, this is a role that allows great autonomy to develop and improve the function, as well ensuring that all internal and statutory accounting procedures are performed exceptionally. Producing strong management reports for monthly discussion, identifying opportunities to improve, ensuring positive cashflow, budgeting and adhering to financial accounting policies are all key aspects of the role.
We’re looking for a candidate with at least five years’ experience in a number one or number two position, ideally (though not essentially) professionally qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA. You’ll need a solid understanding of the full accounting cycle of a medium sized services business and an excellent aptitude for modern IT platforms; MS Excel essential, Xero or similar cloud-based experience desirable.
We’re working to a reasonably tight closing deadline so interested applicants are encouraged to get in touch ASAP. For further details of this interesting, socially proactive opportunity, please contact Elle Benjamin quoting reference EB6955.
