Charity Finance Manager - Bristol Area - Part-Time (2 Days Per Week) - Hybrid Working - Circa £50,000 FTE
Are you an experienced charity finance professional looking for a flexible role that offers autonomy, variety and genuine work-life balance?
Our client, a well-established and growing charity, is seeking a Charity Finance Manager to take ownership of its finance function and support both the charity and its trading subsidiary. This is a stand-alone finance role, offering the opportunity to improve processes, support strategic decision-making and oversee the day-to-day financial management of the organisation.
Working closely with senior stakeholders, you will ensure the charity remains financially robust, compliant and well-positioned for future growth. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced charity finance professional seeking a flexible, part-time position with a varied and rewarding workload.
Key Responsibilities will include:
* Managing the day-to-day finance function across the charity and its trading subsidiary
* Producing monthly management accounts, budgets, forecasts and cashflow reporting
* Presenting financial information and analysis to senior leadership and the Board
* Managing restricted and unrestricted funding in accordance with charity accounting principles
* Overseeing year-end accounts and liaising with external auditors
* Ensuring compliance with Charity Commission, Companies House and HMRC requirements
* Supporting funding bids, business planning and financial decision-making
* Reviewing and improving finance systems, controls and reporting processes
* Undertaking bookkeeping, reconciliations and other day-to-day finance activities as required
The successful candidate will have previous finance experience within the charity sector and a strong understanding of charity accounting, restricted funding and financial reporting. We'd particularly like to hear from individuals currently working as a Charity Finance Manager, Finance Manager, Charity Accountant, Management Accountant, Finance Lead or Senior Finance Officer.
Professional accountancy qualifications are not essential, although AAT, ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent qualifications, whether completed or in progress, would be welcomed. More important is your ability to work independently, manage a varied workload and communicate effectively with both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
This role offers exceptional flexibility, with a requirement to attend the office for only a small portion of your working week. The remaining hours can be worked flexibly around your commitments.
If you're an experienced charity finance professional looking for a flexible opportunity within the not-for-profit sector, we'd love to hear from you.
