Assistant Finance Manager - £40,000 - Plymouth - Full time - Permanent 

Trial Balance Consulting are pleased to be exclusively supporting a long-established and highly successful business who seek to recruit an Assistant Finance Manager to join their finance team. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity offering a clear pathway for progression over the coming years.

Working closely with an experienced Finance Manager, this role is ideally suited to an ambitious finance professional looking to take the next step in their career. The successful candidate will gain exposure to both transactional and management accounting responsibilities, with increasing responsibility as they develop within the business.

Key responsibilities include:

* Overseeing the purchase ledger function and ensuring supplier payments are managed efficiently

* Managing employee expenses and ensuring accurate processing and reporting

* Supporting month-end procedures, reconciliations and management reporting

* Assisting with the preparation of management accounts

* Working closely with the Finance Manager to maintain strong financial controls and reporting processes

* Identifying opportunities to improve existing finance procedures and systems

* Providing support across the wider finance function as required

We're keen to hear from experienced finance professionals who possess a minimum AAT qualification and at least five years' experience gained within a busy finance environment. Applicants should be confident operating within a broad finance role and comfortable taking ownership of key finance processes.

This opportunity would suit an Assistant Accountant, Senior Accounts Assistant or similar finance professional seeking a genuine step into management and longer-term career progression.
