Management Accountant - Maternity Cover - Truro / Hybrid - £50,000 - £55,000

Trial Balance are delighted to have been exclusively re-assigned by a successful and ambitious client in Truro, who are looking to appoint a Management Accountant to provide maternity cover for a 12-month period, commencing by December. Working alongside the Head of Finance (also placed by Trial Balance), you'll take responsibility for a broad range of financial activity and provide analysis and insight to support the decision-making process. 

As Management Accountant, your responsibilities will include:

- Producing quarterly management accounts and financial reporting for senior stakeholders

- Completing VAT returns and overseeing relevant tax and compliance responsibilities

- Overseeing project accounting, ensuring expenditure remains aligned with approved budgets

- Analysing financial results and monitoring performance against budgets and forecasts

- Managing short-term cash flow and supporting wider financial planning

- Supporting the annual audit process and assisting with the preparation of statutory accounts

- Maintaining effective financial controls and helping to identify improvements to systems and processes

- Providing support across the wider finance function and contributing to longer-term financial planning

 The successful Management Accountant will be:

Part or fully professionally qualified (ideally CIMA or ACCA), with strong communication skills and the ability to work alongside senior leadership, external stakeholders and colleagues across multiple departments.  

You'll have solid experience across management accounting, budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting, with the ability to interpret financial information and communicate conclusions clearly.
