Financial Controller - Wincanton - £50k - £60k - Permanent - Full time

Every recruitment opportunity that we are assigned to assist with has its own unique selling points. Some are more obvious than others and sometimes we need to dig deep to identify these USP’s. We don’t have that difficulty here; for an ambitious and motivated Financial Controller, this opportunity will tick all of the boxes.

Trial Balance Consulting have been exclusively reassigned by our long-term client, a highly successful food services business with headquarters located near Wincanton. They’re a long established and continuously growing business, with products and services sold to hundreds of thousands of customers each year, throughout the UK. With a turnover exceeding £50M and increasing year-on-year, they are primed for further expansion and seek to recruit an experienced Financial Controller to assist in this business growth.

The FC will take a lead position in the day to day control of the accounting lifecycle to include the regular production of both management and statutory accounts and the supervision of all transactional accounting controls. The MD is very receptive to new ideas and open to developing and implementing process improvements, and harnessing modern technology. Key responsibilities to include:

- Production of weekly, monthly and quarterly management reports

- Financial accounting to ensure statutory compliance and to assist with annual audit

- Overseeing the maintenance of company ledgers

- VAT reporting and posting

- Cash & BACS management

- Reporting & Analysis

- Budgeting

- Payroll

Think you’ve got what it takes? We’re looking for a dynamic, energetic, and down-to-earth Financial Controller with a demonstrable history of success. It’s not essential that you are a professionally qualified individual (ACA/ACCA/CIMA), but you’ll need a solid background in supervising staff, preparation of financial and management reports, up to date knowledge of accounting standards and budgetary controls, and most certainly a hands on approach. It’s a big job, but a rewarding one, and well suited to a driven FC who cares about their colleagues as much as their clients. This employer is keen to get this recruitment project moving quickly and interviews are to be arranged on receipt of suitably experienced candidate CVs. For further details and to apply, please contact Dan Saunders quoting reference DS8862.
