Financial Controller - Plymouth – £50,000 – £55,000 + Company Car – Full time – Permanent

If you're an experienced finance professional looking for a senior role with real commercial impact and genuine influence at the top of a well-established business, this is a compelling opportunity. I'm working, once again, with a highly regarded and successful group business based in Plymouth that is looking for a Financial Controller to lead the finance function and work closely with the Group Managing Director in a newly created position.

This is a broad and commercially focused role with direct board level visibility, encompassing:

- Producing high level financial reports, KPIs and variance analysis for all departments, communicating financial performance clearly to senior managers and directors.

- Preparing and maintaining cash flow forecasts, identifying risks and managing short term cash requirements on a day to day basis.

- Overseeing credit control and accounts receivable, managing aged debt reporting and implementing effective collection procedures.

- Leading the budgeting cycle and rolling forecasts in a fast paced and commercially driven environment.

- Ensuring compliance with financial regulations and accounting standards, supporting the external audit process and maintaining robust governance across the finance function.

- Taking full responsibility for the accounts department, leading, mentoring and developing the finance team and driving a culture of accuracy and continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate will be fully or part qualified, ACA, ACCA or CIMA, with a proven track record in a Financial Controller, Senior Management Accountant or equivalent senior finance role. Multi-site or group experience is essential, as is hands on cash flow forecasting, team management and the ability to translate complex financial information for a non-finance audience. Strong Excel skills and experience with financial systems are required, and a background in the automotive or retail sector would be a distinct advantage though is not essential.

This is a newly created position offering genuine strategic influence, a direct reporting line to the Group Managing Director and a company car as part of the package, either via P11D or finance contribution.
