Accounts Assistant

Accounts Assistant - Truro Area – circa £30k  – Full time – Permanent

If you're an experienced accounts assistant looking for a varied and interesting role in a unique and inspiring working environment, this could be a fantastic opportunity. I'm working with a well-established rural organisation based near Truro with a diverse portfolio of interests, that is looking for a capable Accounts Assistant to join their small and friendly finance team and support the Management Accountant across a broad range of transactional and reporting duties.

This is a varied and hands on role covering a wide range of responsibilities, including:

- Processing supplier invoices onto the purchase ledger, reconciling supplier statements and resolving discrepancies.

- Recording income received and assisting with credit control and creditor payment runs.

- Performing bank and credit card reconciliations and monthly internal invoicing.

- Assisting with the monthly review of accounting transactions, accruals and journal entries.

- Supporting with quarterly VAT returns and the preparation of management accounts.

- Monthly reporting including maintenance of the fixed asset registers and other ad hoc finance tasks as required.

The ideal candidate will have solid experience in a similar transactional finance role, with a good working knowledge of purchase ledger, bank reconciliations and general accounts administration. Experience with Sage or a similar accounting package is desirable though not essential. You'll be well organised, have a strong eye for detail and be comfortable working both independently and as part of a small team. Good IT skills including Excel, Word and Outlook are essential, as is a full UK driving licence and access to your own transport given the rural location of the office.
