Assistant Accountant – Okehmapton – 12 month Contract/ Permanent – Full time

Trial Balance Consulting are pleased to be working with a unique and well-established organisation to recruit an Assistant Accountant on a 12-month contract. This role has been created to support a detailed finance project, working closely with an experienced Finance Manager and Director of Finance.

The position will focus on completing an ongoing forensic style project, requiring strong analytical skills and a high level of attention to detail. Alongside this, there will be the opportunity to support the wider finance team during busy periods, particularly around management accounts.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys getting into the detail, working on projects, and being part of a collaborative finance function.

Key responsibilities will include:

- Supporting the completion of an ongoing finance project

- Working with large data sets and producing detailed analysis

- Assisting with reconciliations and resolving historical discrepancies

- Supporting the preparation of management accounts during busy periods

- Working closely with senior finance stakeholders on project delivery

- Contributing to improvements in processes and reporting

We are seeking someone with strong Excel skills and previous experience in a similar role. Experience supporting management accounts is important, alongside a methodical and detail focused approach.

Candidates can be qualified, part qualified, or qualified by experience. The key requirement is strong technical ability, a proactive mindset, and the confidence to work in a fast-paced environment.

This is an initial 12-month contract with a strong possibility of becoming permanent, with future involvement in a range of upcoming projects across the business. Additional practical support is available for those travelling or spending time on site.
