Practice Consultant (field based) - Devon or Southwest based - £45-50,000.
Trial Balance Consulting have been assigned by a specialist commercial organisation, specialising in training and compliance within accountancy practice. This is an unusual opportunity that would be particularly well suited to a candidate with long term experienced gained in practice, ideally focused in accounts, tax or audit.
The vacancy offers the successful incumbent an unrivalled opportunity to put existing and potential skill sets to great use by acting as an external consultant for a wide range of ICAEW registered firms of chartered accountants. This training and compliance provider has an excellent reputation in the UK marketplace with most prestige firms utilising their services on an ongoing, long-term basis.
The role requires the Practice Consultant to perform a wide range of varying duties to include, but not limited to:
Carrying out file reviews for sole practitioners to top 50 practices. The practice Consultant will facilitate compliance training and review, debriefing onsite staff and providing them with a comprehensive written report of conclusions. These reviews are likely to cover -
Audit files (hot and cold).
Whole firm systems (e.g. for ICAEW practice assurance).
Client financial regulations.
Investment business regulations.
Money laundering regulations.
The role will require the Practice Consultant to deliver/present specialist training courses and workshops. This may include onsite and offsite (internet based) lectures. High quality presentation training will be provided where required. The incumbent will review and ensure that all course material is up to date and relevant.
They will also assist clients remotely in responding to technical queries from clients on company law, audit procedures, financial reporting and money laundering. The Practice Consultant will be required to provide technical reports in all of the above aspects of the practice workflow.
The successful incumbent will be:
Professionally qualified ICAEW or ACCA with at least two years of PQE.
Have a keen interest in compliance with excellent attention to detail.
Possess excellent spoken and written English with the ability to proof read to a high standard.
Possess flexibility in working locations and patterns. The role can be performed remotely (from home if preferred), from client sites and within the employers multiple offices.
