Accounts Assistant - Truro / Hybrid - Circa: £26,000 Neg DOE
Trial Balance Consulting have been reengaged by a past client, a highly successful service based SME that operate a genuinely fun, vibrant and easy going office environment! The business has tasked us with sourcing an Accounts Assistant, a permanent, full time opportunity that can be operated on a hybrid arrangement with three days based in their central Truro offices and the remaining two from home.
This will be a broad and interesting role where the successful candidate will assume an almost standalone role, supported by an experienced off-site Finance Manager when required and at month/year end. Key responsibilities of the role include:
- General small business bookkeeping using Xero
- Accounts preparation for month end reporting
- Accounts to Trial Balance
- Statutory compliance
- Preparing P&L reports
- Accounts payable management
- Accounts receivable and aged debtor management
- Preparing and submitting VAT returns
- Bank reconciliation
- Handling internal, customer and supplier enquiries
- Other office management duties as required
Joining a creative and fun office means personality fit is important. This is a team who work hard, but enjoy themselves whilst doing so. The successful candidate will be at least AAT level 2 qualified and ideally have at least two years of experience in a similar role. Previous experience with Xero or a transferable digital accounting package is essential, as is the ability to work in a fast-based environment. The role will involve communication across all departments and multiple offices, so this role will suit an outgoing individual who is comfortable liaising with others.
