Trial Balance Consulting are pleased to be assisting our long-standing Truro based client in their search for an experienced Finance Manager. The position works with a very well established and highly successful business that designs and manufactures high quality commercial equipment, which can be found in production facilities across the UK and beyond. With ambitious growth plans for the future and now under US ownership, this a pivotal finance-number-one position which takes a lead role in ensuring efficient financial controls. 

Reporting directly the senior management team (UK & US) and supervising a small finance team, the Finance Manager will benefit from the autonomy to develop, implement and improve existing processes & procedures to ensure that the function is well placed to add benefit where continued business is growth is concerned. 

Key responsibilities to include: 

- Manage the overall financial health to include transactional, operational and strategic aspects 

- Production and commentary of monthly management accounts

- Budgeting and cashflow forecasting

- Play a key role in a major ERP upgrade (2023)

- VAT and statutory tax preparations

- Supervise and develop a small transactional team

- Banking controls

- Liaise with Chartered Accountants

- Managing cashflow

We’re looking for an experienced Finance Manager, ideally with experience gained within a manufacturing environment, either professionally qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA), or qualified by experience. You’ll need to possess excellent IT systems skills, particularly in MS Excel (MS dynamic exposure would be desirable but not essential). You’ll be managing a small team of  transactional colleagues so a history in team management would be ideal, as will a proven track record in managing other commercial aspects of a small business. The company is driven by a friendly and highly motivated team and the Finance Manager will be a recognised face across all department of the business so great inter personal and communication skills are a must!
