Finance Manager - Falmouth - Circa: £30-35,000 Neg
Trial Balance Consulting are delighted to have been reengaged by our long-standing client, a highly successful bespoke construction business located in Falmouth. The company has experienced phenomenal growth in recent years and with headcount now approaching 100, the business is restructuring its administration function in line with its ambitious plans for continued growth.
They now require an experienced Finance Manager to join them and work closely with their Finance Director and assist in supporting a small finance team. This is a second in command opportunity where the successful candidate will work closely with the Finance Director and take a lead role in overseeing the day-to-day finances of the company. Key responsibilities to include:
- Assist in the preparation of management accounts
- Take a lead role in costing analysis, variances, material and labour costs etc.
- Oversee the accounts payable and receivable function
- Bank reconciliations
- General bookkeeping
- VAT returns
- Payroll reviews
- Assist the Finance Director in streamlining and developing financial protocols
For this role we seek an experienced Assistant Accountant, Bookkeeper or Finance Manager with at least 3 years’ experience in end-to-end accounting. Candidates may be part/fully professionally qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA), AAT or qualified by experience. Previous experience in a construction/manufacturing setting would be desirable though not essential. Good knowledge of industry standard cloud-based accounting and MS Excel will be required. The successful candidate will manage a small team so previous supervisory experience would lend itself well, but a good aptitude for team development will be welcome.
