If the ethos, values, and positive direction of your employer’s business are as important to you as the job that you perform for them, you’ve just stumbled upon a vocational utopia!
Trial Balance Consulting are delighted to have once again been exclusively assigned to assist a highly prominent and long-established Cornish business who seek to recruit an exceptional Financial Controller to join their happy team. This is a business that put their people and their customers at the heart of everything that they do and it’s helped them to grow into an organisation with credentials that you’ll struggle to find elsewhere. You’ll know exactly what we’re talking about when you step through the door; their team are dedicated, exceptionally skilled in what they do, and their enthusiasm for doing things right is infectious.
This is a rare opportunity to join the business in a role of pivotal responsibility and with fantastic ongoing potential. The Financial Controller works as part of a large finance team, supports a number of staff and operates at senior management level. As you might have guessed, we’re not looking for just any ordinary candidate.
We’re looking for an exceptionally well trained and experienced FC that possesses A1 technical experience as well sound commercial judgement. You’ll be taking a lead role in ensuring the efficient financial controls across multiple entities and with multiple income streams. We’re seeking a candidate who feels as comfortable with management reporting as they do statutory accounting, leading audits, budgeting, forecasting and benchmarking.
Is this you? You’re a professionally qualified finance professional (ACA/ACCA/CIMA), probably operating at Head of Finance or Financial Controller level. You’ve got great experience gained in a diverse medium to large organisation (for profit or not for profit), where you regularly commentate at board level. You’ll be a natural leader, with past experience in managing your own team, developing their skills and mentoring their progress. Your skills in identifying potential improvements and leading finance projects will be demonstrable and your experience of using technology in previous roles will be obvious. Most importantly, you’ll possess the ability to recognise the values and cultures of a growing business and hit the ground running within a friendly and likeminded team environment.
