For many businesses, Covid-19 has delivered an onslaught of unpleasant challenges and difficult trading conditions. Yet for others (often operating in the most unexpected of sectors), their business has flourished with sales either unaffected or positively prospering during 2020. This role works with the latter and this brand-new vacancy comes about entirely as a result of expansion. 

This is the third time that we’ve been exclusively assigned by this employer in the last 18 months. Their business is growing at an unprecedented speed so this is no dead-end job. Located on the outskirts of Newquay (with parking), the company supplies consumer products via online mail order. Their brand is strong and their products high quality so they’ll be a recognisable name for many. 

They now seek to recruit a Finance Assistant with a difference. What makes it different? Well, the role actually falls between two departments; finance and production & wholesale. This is a pivotal role that links the two, working closely with their Finance Manager and their Head of Production. It’s a busy warehouse and the successful candidate will handle a high volume of invoices and liaise with their own wholesale customers of all types and sizes. 

We’re looking for somebody with solid purchase and sales ledger exposure and a good ability to reconcile payments. This is a role that works closely with customers and suppliers, so you’ll act as a key point of contact and be a real problem solver. Experience using Xero particularly welcome, but those with other cloud accounting software experience and a strong aptitude for all things IT (particularly MS Excel), are particularly welcome to apply. Our client won’t be bogged down with paper qualifications, they’re looking for an experienced individual who can use their initiative to think beyond the initial role spec.
