Part Time Finance Manager

Part Time Finance Manager - St. Columb - £30-35,000 FTE

Trial Balance Consulting are delighted to have been reengaged by our long-standing client, a highly successful manufacturing business with a recognised core brand and a number of growing bespoke productions trading under alternative entities. This position works for one of the company’s smaller brands and the successful candidate will play a lead role in managing the site accounting controls. 

The role is offered on a permanent, part time arrangement with a working pattern of 15-25 hours spread over a 2-3 day working week. Due to the fast-paced manufacturing line, the role will be offices based at the company’s site based in St Columb (free onsite parking). 

Reporting to and working closely with the onsite Managing Director, and with full offsite support from the Group Finance Director, this will be a broad role where the Finance Manager will enjoy a high degree of autonomy in developing and streamlining systems. Key responsibilities to include: 

- Month & year end accounting procedures

- Management of accounts payable & receivable 

- Production of accurate and informative management accounts/reports

- Maintenance of fixed asset register

- Financial forecasting

- Cash flow projections 

- VAT reporting

- Manage all finance agreements

- Credit control and debt management 

For this role we’re seeking a candidate with at least two years of experience in a similar position, or an ambitious Assistant Accountant looking to step up to a number one position. The position would also be suited to a Bookkeeper with end-to-end finance exposure. Candidates may be either QBE or part/full AAT/CCAB qualified. Good all-round technical accounting skills, a strong IT aptitude and people management skills are all essential. It’s a modern role with a modern company and would be very well suited to a commercially astute individual who enjoys making things work better and ultimately creating a slick accounting function within a fast-changing business.
