Finance Manager - Isles of Scilly (Tresco) - £: Competitive base salary + Fully expensed accommodation + Relocation costs + Discounted facilities
If you’ve ever visited the Isles of Scilly, you’ll appreciate that the opportunity to live and work on the islands represents more than just a new job opportunity. It’s a once in a lifetime opportunity and for the right candidate, could represent the beginning of a whole new life. And if you’ve not visited but you’re intrigued, it’s time to get googling!
Trial Balance Consulting are delighted to have been re-engaged by our longstanding client who seek to recruit an experienced Finance Manager to join them on the beautiful island of Tresco. And if you’re wondering what type of business would establish themselves on a small island 28 miles offshore, this works for the very organisation that owns and operates the island, a major hospitality attraction.
Living and working on the Scillies won’t be for everyone, but once you’ve travelled to Tresco and experienced the sub-tropical gardens, white sanded beaches and amazing facilities, you’ll be looking for a reason not to leave. And here it is!
We’re searching for an experienced Finance Manager who will join a small but highly experienced administrative function and work closely with a super-friendly Finance Director. What you’ll be doing when you’re not enjoying the island:
- Production of management accounts
- Prepare cash flow reports and rolling forecasts
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable, and reviewing regular payments runs
- Compile and return accurate statutory returns to include VAT, CIS and P35
- Work closely with the Finance Director and senior management team in all aspects of financial performance
- Assist in developing and implementing process efficiency improvements
- Ensure accuracy of current liabilities, stock, debtor position and reconciliations
What we’re looking for: A technically astute Finance Manager, either AAT, part/fully CCAB qualified or qualified by experience. The focus here is on a wider understanding of the day-to-day accountancy lifecycle of a small but busy function, whilst managing a small team and communication with colleagues across all departments. Previous experience gained within the hospitality sector would be advantageous, but by no means essential.
What’s included: A great base salary and fully expensed island accommodation, the value of which forms a significant part of the overall package. The company will also pay any travel expenses incurred in applying for the role and the relocation costs of the successful candidate. Furthermore, the successful candidate will benefit heavily subsidised facility charges and discounted arrangements for visiting guests.
This is a truly unique opportunity, rarely seen in the southwest, and presenting itself at an opportune time of the year! Our client is keen to review our shortlist ASAP so please contact Elle Benjamin without delay quoting reference EB7454.
