The role works within an experienced, friendly, and down to earth finance function and reports directly to the Financial Controller. It will focus on ensuring compliant, accurate adherence to statutory and regulatory requirements.  

The technical details: 

- Preparing and reporting statutory accounts

- VAT reporting and posting

- Quarterly and annual corporation tax reporting

- Working to maximise VAT recovery 

- Investigating compliant methods of reducing customs duty liabilities

- GDPR compliance

- Reporting on statistics

- Supporting internal and external audits

- Implementing process controls improvements

Are you the person that we’re looking for? 

We’re equally focussed on finding a candidate who meets the culture fit as well as the technical spec. We’d definitely prefer to submit qualified candidate’s (ACA/ACCA/CIMA), but we’d be comfortable in sending a part qualified or QBE with strong manufacturing exposure. Either way, manufacturing experience is high on our wish list. Good IT and ERP skills, particularly in MS Excel essential. A knowledge of UK and overseas accounting standards will be essential as would technical indirect tax exposure. The team fit and communication skills are particularly important for this role; It works within a highly energetic, personable team and across multiple departments. We’re looking for a dynamic, enquiring minded individual who can use initiative to find and fix problems, and raise potential ideas to improve systems.
