Director of Finance & Resources (Interim) - Falmouth - £34-40,000 FTE

Trial Balance Consulting are delighted to have been exclusively assigned by a new client, a specialist educational provider based in Falmouth. They’ve tasked us with sourcing a candidate for a pivotal role within the organisation, Director of Finance & resources. The role is initially interim (9 months), but with strong potential to develop to a permanent opportunity upon successful contract completion.

This is an interesting and varied opportunity, principally focussing on ensuring efficient financial controls and reporting, but with a broad range of operational duties to include human resources administration, health & safety, facilities management, IT and data protection. Please note experience these operation areas is not essential, but candidates should possess an aptitude to work with the senior management teams on projects outside of the accounting function. 

The role works closely with the organisations' CEO and senior management team, but also an experienced financed team based outside of the county. The successful candidate will be supported by an experienced finance officer and an HR assistant.  Taking a lead responsibility for the accounting lifecycle of the organisation, the Director of Finance will head up budgeting, management accounting and the preparation of financial reports for the off-site finance team. 

We’re seeking applications from experienced, ideally part/fully qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA/CIPFA) candidates, who can demonstrate good exposure gained within a small but busy finance department. The role requires consistently strong communication skills, often working with departments outside of finance. Strong IT skills are essential and experience in heading up other business administration tasks would be desirable.
