Finance Manager – Mid Cornwall - £30,000
There’s nothing more exciting than planning your next holiday. Choosing your destination, selecting your accommodation, planning your activities, counting down the days… It’s almost as fun as the holiday itself! We’re working with a repeat client who help their customers build and experience high end dream holidays throughout the UK. They’re a Cornish business that have grown exponentially since their launch and, despite recent global challenges, are confident in doubling their turnover within the next three years.
They’ve exclusively tasked us with finding their new Finance Manager to help in achieving this. This is a pivotal role within the business and not one that simply picks up and continues with systems and procedures as they’ve always been. There’s a huge amount of autonomy here and the senior management team welcome a commercially astute candidate who can develop positive change with the ability to understand and improve performance across all areas of the business. We’re not looking for a Bookkeeper, we want a forward-thinking finance-number-one who can not only reduce business expenses, but drive forward ideas that increase profitability.
It’s the perfect role for somebody who is desperate to take the lead and not just think about improvements that will never be implemented. Enthusiasm of the highest degree will be required here! It’s a small finance department and you’ll have an assistant to help you achieve this. They’ll need mentoring and developing to ensure that your function runs all cylinders from the word go.
We’re more interested in experience and attitude but we’re looking for a candidate qualified to at least AAT level, with great IT aptitude and a real desire to overcome problems and develop great accounting controls. You’ll need great communication skills to; not only will you work closely with colleagues, you’ll be working with suppliers and high-end customers. It’s a role that calls for great all-round accounting exposure, as well as excellent management and interpersonal skills. Leisure and/or hospitality experience would be highly desirable, but certainly not essential if you think you fit the key criteria.
The benefits here are not just financial. As the business grows, so will your department and you’ll be taking a lead role on this. Our client is in a hurry and eager to see the details of suitable candidates, so please get in touch with Elle Benjamin ASAP quoting reference EB6809.
