If you were to leave your current post would your boss use words like high calibre, dynamic, strong leadership, demonstrable track record and outstanding commercial acumen to find the best possible replacement for you? If this were the kind of person they need to fill your boots then my client would very much like to speak with you!
If you’re an experienced, qualified Financial Controller residing in the Southwest then you might have noticed that career opportunities have been fairly buoyant at your level over the past 12 months. In fact, we’ve seen more £40K+ opportunities in the last year than we’d seen for three years prior. Great news for us of course.
As a candidate, the difficulty with all this choice is separating the unremarkable from the genuinely exciting. For our team, the challenge lies in ensuring that the best candidates are naturally drawn to the most interesting of opportunities. Fortunately, this opportunity with this business ticks the boxes for the latter, so we’ll save on our most commonly used recruitment clichés to describe our client.
Our client is a leader in their field and due to continued growth they are now looking to recruit a Financial Controller who will, in time become the Finance Director. The role will ideally suit a Senior Management Accountant looking to become a Financial Controller, or you may already be an FC who is looking for more from their career.
The role incorporates the sort of duties that you’d expect at this level with a strong emphasis on producing quality financial and management Information and overseeing day-to-fay transactional activities. It’s a role that will take you outside of finance too, liaising with internal and external ‘customers’ across a wide remit of activity.
You must be a qualified individual (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with at least 5 years PQE and experience of working as part of a senior management team. You’ll need sharp technical skills and be commercially astute to properly understand how a business operates outside of the accounting function. Good IT skills, good team management skills and the ability to achieve reporting deadlines will be a given.
In exchange, you will receive a competitive salary and a decent benefits package but the real fillip is the ability to ‘make the role your own’ as you follow your defined career path to Directorship.
