Trial Balance Consulting are delighted to have been exclusively retained by a very interesting start up business with very big plans indeed. And this is no cash-strapped start up, the business has been founded by a team of HNWI’s with decades of business acumen and numerous successes behind them. It’s a hospitality business with a difference; one that already has an impressive revenue turnover that is set to double over the next 24 months. 

So, what’s actually happening here? We’re looking for an experienced, bright, and driven accountant to develop the finance function (and more) for the business. Think of this as a blank canvas… but a blank canvas that already turns over £1.5M. The company has chosen Xero as it’s platform of choice and is currently enabling the architecture to suit the nature of the business and its financial transactions. This is a technical role that requires more than just end-to-end accounting knowledge. The position that will require the successful candidate to have a high level of system/API integration experience and the ability to continuously develop and improve the function as a whole. 

The successful candidate will work closely with one of the founding entrepreneurs and will be invited to voice ideas for business growth and commentate on real time financial data as required. Think you’re the person that we’re after? This is what we think we need: 

- An experienced accountant with very strong commercial awareness and a confident ability to set up systems for a business that is expect a rapid increase in turnover

- Excellent IT aptitude and the ability to integrate multiple cloud-based APIs 

- Professionally qualified? Maybe, maybe not. Our client contact is a Chartered Accountant but they recognise that letters after a name isn’t a deal breaker for this

- Strong academics - good school, college and university results

- Career drive and ambition. The role’s part time but we need more than a steady pair of hands

The setup: The role will initially launch as a four-hour working day, either four or five days per week. The hours can be organised to suit the successful candidate and would be well suited to a parent with school commitments. Initially, the role will probably be largely remotely based but there is every intention to move to a Falmouth based office in the short term.
