Management Accountant - Saltash - £: Negotiable DOE
Trial Balance Consulting are delighted to have been exclusively engaged by a well-established and developing business that we have assisted on a number of previous occasions as their finance function grows. The company designs and manufacturers a range of niche solutions that are utilised by commercial clients on a global basis. The business is enjoying sustained growth and with a number of high-profile projects underway, they now seek to recruit a forward-thinking Management Accountant to join the team.
This newly created position that reports to a very experienced Financial Controller and will work to reduce pressures of the day-to-day operations of the function to allow them to focus on current and future projects. The role will supervise two full and one part time members of the finance team who principally look after the transaction elements of accounts payable, receivable and payroll administration. Key technical responsibilities of the role to include:
- Preparation of monthly management accounts with commentary on margins and variance analysis
- Detailed month end reconciliations
- Cash flow forecasting with multiple currencies
- Lead, develop and support a small finance team and transactional activities
- Assist with year-end statutory accounting
- Budget reporting and forecasting
- Liaison with external stakeholders to include banks, auditors, accountants and solicitors
Finding the perfect candidate is equally weighted between strong personal qualities as it is technical ability, and the Financial Controller has highlighted the importance of a strong a team fit. This is a closely bonded, friendly and well organised function that will really benefit from a Management Accountant with a forward thinking, inquisitive and problem-solving attitude. The role is particularly hands-on and the successful candidate will pick up tasks across all areas of the finance function. Candidates will ideally be recently qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA but strong consideration will be given to dynamic part qualified candidates or those that are qualified by experience. Previous experience of supervising staff would be advantageous and a sound understanding of MS Office and Sage products would be highly desirable.
