Finance & HR Manager - West Cornwall - £30-35,000

They’re an engineering business that have found a solution to age long problem with an innovation that has gained serious traction in recent years. They’ve taken their solution through in house R&D, engineering, and have now taken their product to market with serious success. The business is poised for growth and as such are developing their team accordingly. 

Trial Balance Consulting have been exclusively assigned by this business to source an innovative Finance Manager to grow the accounting function as their customer orders soar. Initially this is a standalone position where the successful candidate will take full control of accounting controls but also design and develop procedures for maximum efficiency. The role also entails a degree of business administration, which will entail some Human resources administration duties, overseeing control of stock management and other ad-hoc duties where required. 

We’re seeking a candidate with strong all-round accounting experience, ideally within an SME/OMB environment, and with strong management reporting and statutory accounting exposure. The role closely alongside the Managing director but also with each member of their small but rapidly growing team. Key duties to include: 

- Production of monthly management accounts

- Statutory and financial reporting as required (VAT, Corporation Tax computations etc.)

- Payroll for a small team

- Accounts payable

- Accounts receivable 

- Reconciliations, banking and petty cash control

- Project costing and budgeting

- Stock control and management

- HR administration (contracts, employee filing, HR procedures and best practice)

We’re looking for an experienced Finance Manager who could be either QBE, AAT or part/fully professionally qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA. It is crucial that candidates have experience in all aspects of small-medium sized business accounting controls using cloud-based accounting platforms. Whilst exposure to HR administration and stock control would be desirable, it is not essential as long as the successful candidate has the aptitude to develop these systems and policies. The management team of this business and friendly and energetic so a real can-do attitude and ability to present and implement business improvement ideas will be essential. This is more than a regular Bookkeeping role; this person will play a pivotal role in the company’s ongoing commercial development.
