Charity Finance & Administration Manager - Truro (with parking) - Circa: £37,000
There’s a lot to consider when moving on to a new job opportunity. The role responsibilities need to suit, the remuneration needs to be attractive, and the future prospects need to be bright. But perhaps one of the most important and often overlooked factors to consider is a strong belief in your new employer’s values and the nature of their operation. If working with a highly ethical organisation that genuinely changes & improves people’s lives means as much as the job that you’re paid to do, this will undoubtedly be an opportunity that will be of interest.
Trial Balance Consulting have recently met with and been exclusively assigned by one of Cornwall’s most respected and fast paced charity’s; an organisation with multi-faceted service offerings, assisting some the county’s most vulnerable and disadvantaged residents.
They’ve tasked us with sourcing a Finance & Administration Manager, a position of paramount importance within the organisation. This is no ordinary accounting opportunity. Not only will the Finance Manager handle all aspects of the charity’s accounting affairs, they will take a lead role in designing, implementing and maintaining the administration function to include, company secretarial duties, health & safety protocols, and general business management. It’s a not-for-profit role with a significant commercial bias to it. It’s a technical accounting role that utilises Xero as its main platform but with significant use of MS Excel and other administration software. The FM will supervise a team of three assistant’s, reports directly to the charity’s CEO and works closely with internal and external stakeholders across all areas. A full technical job description is ready and waiting for shortlisted candidates.
In an ideal world, we’re searching for a candidate with charity-based experience operating at a similar level. A thorough knowledge of charity taxation, VAT coding, and allocation of income across multiple streams. A practice-based charity specialist seeking their first role outside of the profession would fit the bill perfectly, as a would an experienced individual joining from another medium sized charity (£1.5-2M t/o). Our client will also be open to reviewing applicants with a private sector background, but who possess a strong aptitude for learning new procedures and protocols. Either way you’ll be an accomplished accountant with superb organisational and interpersonal skills. We’re more focussed on relevant technical and career experience than we are qualification status so applications are invited from both QBE, AAT and professionally qualified applicants (ACA/ACCA/CIMA/CIPFA).
And one more thing. We’re in a hurry. Our client wants CVs on their desk without delay and with a view to interviewing as and when they review interesting candidates. Rapid availability would be highly advantageous. Please do not delay in applying, contact Dan Saunders quoting reference DS7050 for further details and to apply.
