What are the recruitment options available to me?
Generally speaking, we can usually segregate our assignments into the following areas;
Temporary – These types of assignments generally call for candidates who can make themselves available at short notice and will often have no determined end date. Temporary assignments through Trial Balance Consulting can run for as little as one day and occasionally for as long as three years. If we place you into a temporary assignment then you will become an employee of Trial Balance Consulting, and as such we shall take responsibility for paying your salary and any employee benefits that you will be entitled to under the Agency Workers Regulations 2010 (AWR). These types of assignments often lead to permanent offers of employment.
Contract/Interim – Contract and interim appointments generally have an approximate start and finish date and often run over a longer period of time (usually at least three months). These types of assignments are generally completed on our clients' payroll and as such you will become an employee of our client who will take responsibility for paying your salary and any employee benefits. These types of assignments often lead to permanent offers of employment.
Permanent – As the name would suggest this will be a permanent appointment with a client organisation and as such, will not normally have a pre-determined end date. You will be paid directly by our client.
* Please note that we are experienced in the placement of interim staff based on the basis of either PAYE, self employed or under the umbrella of a limited company.
How much does it cost to register with Trial Balance Consulting?
Nothing. The services provided by an employment business are regulated and we do not charge our candidates for any representation.
Will I need to meet with a consultant in order to register?
Ideally yes, but not essentially. We appreciate that our candidate's time is finite and we are mindful of the costs associated with travelling and booking leave to attend appointments. We are absolutely happy to work with you without meeting but may require an extended telephone conversation with you (at a mutually convenient time).
I am planning on relocating to the area – can you assist?
Absolutely. Unlike many of our competitors, we relish the opportunity to work with candidates who are not yet based in the Southwest and can offer advice in areas not just relating to the employment market. Our clients won't discriminate against candidates based outside of the region and there is no reason why we should. Southwest England is one of the most sought after locations to settle in the UK and we will do our utmost to ensure a stress free relocation.
I wish to join your agency – what do I need to do first?
Registering with Trial Balance is a painless exercise, designed to minimise any inconvenience on the part of our candidates. First and foremost we will require the golden document that is your CV.
If you are in the process of putting together or updating a CV and are struggling for inspiration then please get in touch – we would be delighted to advise and our team are experts in assisting our candidates with creating functional and attractive CVs that simply work. If you know what you are looking for but need a template to work from then we can provide this in the downloads section of this site.
Once we have received a copy of your CV we will be in touch, generally within 24 hours to discuss your current circumstances and future requirements.
What happens once I am registered?
Upon registration we will discuss any immediately suitable opportunities that we may have been assigned to. We will have taken the time to ensure that we note your requirements very carefully upon registration.
I'm a relatively passive job seeker – am I right for Trial Balance Consulting?
Very much so. Approximately 40% of our registered candidates are relatively passive in the market place, meaning that they request communication only when a particularly well suited or exciting opportunity presents itself. It is worth noting that not all of our clients' vacancies are advertised publically (depending on their requirements) and so in some cases the details will only be released to our registered candidates. Naturally we cannot offer this facility to passive job seekers if we do not know of them in the first instance!
Will I need to grant my permission before you forward my CV/personal details to a client?
Yes. We will not send your CV or any personal information that would reveal your identity to a client unless we have gained your prior consent. We would suggest that any recruitment business that does not abide by this policy should be avoided at all costs. The unauthorised submission of CVs is a big problem within the recruitment industry and one that is a particular cause of frustration for us at Trial Balance Consulting.
Will you tell me the names of the clients that you pass my details to?
Each and every time. We have not and will not ever pass you the details of a vacancy without naming the end employer. We are aware of other recruiters in the market place who do not subscribe to this policy, and to avoid the unauthorised circulation of your personal details, we would actively encourage candidates not to grant permission to any recruiter who is not prepared to share the details of their end client.
